Day by day

  1. Day 1: Islamabad to Besham

    Long first day up the Karakoram Highway along the Indus.

  2. Day 2: Besham to Gilgit

    The dramatic stretch past Nanga Parbat viewpoint and the Three Mountains junction.

  3. Day 3: Gilgit to Karimabad

    Short drive into Hunza. Afternoon at Baltit Fort above Karimabad.

    Attabad Lake, the Hussaini suspension bridge and the Passu Cones.

    Full day to the Pakistan–China border at 4,693m and back. Altitude is real up here — the day is paced for it.

    Begin the return, with stops at Rakaposhi viewpoint.
